Welcome to the Scottish Borders ...
Orchard Mains Barn is a recently converted barn, next to Orchard Mains Farm, in the picturesque 'Glen', one mile from Traquair and three miles from the small town of Innerleithen on the A72 in the Scottish Borders.
This imaginative and tastefully decorated accommodation offers the perfect solution for both short and long term breaks and is an affordable alternative to bed & breakfast. Not only are there outdoor pursuits and places of interest to visit straight from the front door, it is also within an hour of Edinburgh, with all its attractions.
Most of the conversion work to the barn was done by the owners, Maureen and Lorne Anton. This work took 5 years and an interesting set of photographs showing its progress can be seen in the accommodation.
Both owners are now retired, Maureen from nursing and Lorne from the railway industry.
A lot of love and care has gone into the building and we think there is a good feel to the place which we would like to share with you
Prices are seasonal and do not fluctuate as a result of school and public holidays, except for Christmas and New Year weeks. Please note that this is a no pets and no smoking accommodation. Two points that we must also make you aware of are that the accommodation is close to a working farm and that small children will need to be supervised near the Quair Water which runs through the garden. The Quair Water is not much more than a stream most of the time, but after heavy rain it flows very quickly.
